Jean Smith is a local Te Aroha singer/songwriter whom I meet about 2 years ago and since then we have recorded these Tracks in the home studio. Some of these songs were penned by Jean 20years ago and finally now they will breath the light of day. For many years Jean performed country songs at the local country music clubs and various bands and functions but she always kept her personal songs well hidden. She approached me to record some cover songs but I encouraged her to play me some of her originals and here they are. Althou Jean only plays very basic guitar she has a very tuneful inner mind and can get across to me the structure and tune of the song, so together with me having quite a free hand with the instrumentation and final structure we put together these songs.

Jean has a fantastic smokey cafe style country voice and loves minor keys. have a listen.

Jean will release a CD album later this year once we have 12 songs. These will be remastered by Simon Lynch at Stebbings.
